Erica Jones ( “Jonesy”) is a Director, Story Artist, and Annie-Nominated Writer for Animation.
Jones grew up in the south coast of Massachusetts ‘helping’ their family work on the cranberry bogs (mostly imagining themselves bleeding out in dramatic battles, and flipping the occasional car into a bog ditch…)
It was weekends listening to their former-martial artist and DJ father mix techno tracks and showing them anime they were too young to watch that fueled this “maladaptive daydreaming”, as some would come to call it.
Jones dreamed of making the kind of art that filled the old instruction manuals of their favorite videogames.
Instead, they attended Calarts for Character Animation and has gone on to work for studios such as Cartoon Network, NETFLIX, DreamWorks, Titmouse and more. Excelling in board-driven productions.
Today, Jones still loves to draw, hunt for Heavy Metal and Eerie magazines from the 70s, and practice longsword fencing.
